Description

NSN #: 8415-01-513-1576 (Neck Dam)

NSN #: 8415-01-513-1673 (Hooded)

The DTAPS C1 CBRN coverall was specifically developed under a government contract for use in dangerous CBRNe conditions and is fielded today by both the United States Navy and United States Air Force for medical readiness and response operations. It is constructed from ChemMax 4 material, which consists of a multi-layer composite chemical barrier laminated to a strong non-woven substrate and offers protection against chemical warfare agents as well as a broad range of toxic industrial chemicals.

Delivering enhanced strength, durability, flexibility, and comfort, the DTAPS C1 coverall is available with a custom neck dam that minimizes vapor intrusion into the coverall or with a respirator-fit hood with an elastic opening that fits tightly with a variety of CBRN tight-fitting face masks.

All respiratory and safety equipment, regardless of approval, should not be used without prior medical sign-off by a certified physician.

The DTAPS C1 is not flame resistant and should not be used around heat, flame, sparks, or in potentially flammable or explosive environments.

The DTAPS C1 should have slip-resistant or anti-slip materials on the outer surface of boots, shoe covers, or other garment surfaces in conditions where slipping could occur.

Chemical resistance data is in accordance with ASTM F739 test methodology. Testing is performed on fabric samples only, not actual garments. Sample results vary and therefore averages for the results are reported. Sources for all test data are independent laboratory conditions and not actual use conditions.

Suit material is protective against bacteria, protozoans, rickettsia, toxins, and viruses. Bio-penetration resistance is measured in accordance with ASTM F1671.

Core benefits
  • Sealed seams maintain liquid-tight integrity in compliance with ASTM F1359 – Standard Test Method for Liquid Penetration Resistance of Protective Clothing or Protective Ensembles Under a Shower Spray or Mannequin
  • Provides over 8 hours of protection against chemical warfare agents including Tabun (GA), Sarin (GB), Soman (GD), Mustard (HD), Lewisite (L), and V-agent (VX)
  • Protects against the 21 ASTM F1001 chemicals plus over 250 additional industrial chemicals
