Selecting the appropriate respirator for your application is the most important step you can take towards protecting your lungs while engaging in your hobby or while at work. And whether it is a disposable respirator like the Filterspec Pro for woodworking projects or a powered air respirator like the Powercap Active for chimney maintenance jobs or woodturning, product maintenance and replacing components like your filters is critical to staying safe on an ongoing basis.

Without proper maintenance and up to date spare replacements, these products will not perform at full efficiency and you may find yourself having to replace the product in it entirety.

Here is our guide to spares so that you can ensure your protection is superior and your product is up to date:

 Filterspec Line

Visor Peel Off Protectors : These visor peel off protectors are designed to protect the surface of the eyewear on the Filterspec line, similar to that of a cell phone protector screen. Ensure that there is one on your Filterspec at all times to protect from scratches and debris.

Replacement Recommendation: Replace it whenever it appears cloudy, dirty and scratched.

Filterspec Filter Replacements : Sold conveniently in a box of 10, these filter replacements are crucial to ensure full respiratory protection.

Replacement Recommendation: We advise that you change the filter when it appears dirty – change once a week if wearing daily.

Force 8 Line

P100 and Press to Check Filters: These respirator filters come with an easy lock in and lock out system.

Replacement Recommendation: We advise that you change the filter on average every month if using daily in a heavy particulate environment.

Powercap Line

Visor Peel Off Protectors: These visor peel off protectors are designed to protect the surface of the visor on the Powercap line, similar to that of a cell phone protector screen. Ensure that there is one on your Powercap at all times to protect from scratches and debris.

Replacement Recommendation: Replace it whenever it appears cloudy, dirty and scratched.

Visor Replacement Kit: A replacement for the  impact visor of the Powercap

Replacement Recommendation: If your visor has been scratched or damaged or appears to provide poor visibility; its time to change your visor.

P2 Filters: Sold in a set of 2, these filters are one of the most important features of your Powercap active.

Replacement Recommendation: For heavy particulate environments such as woodworking, we advise that you change the filters every month or when the air flow feels insufficient. For lighter environments such as COVID protection or hairdressing, we advise that the filters be changed every month. If the air flow seems low, check it by using the air flow indicator included in the Powercap.

Pre Filters: Sold in a set of 2, think of these as an additional filter layer to add on to your P2 filters. By easily placing them on the inside of the P2 filters, the pre filters are designed to catch particulate matter thus extending the life of the P2 filters.

Replacement Recommendation: We advise changing the pre filters once a month. Pre filters can be washed and sprayed with Lysol to extend their life. By maintaining the pre filter, you can extend the life of the P2 filters.

Battery : The Powercap battery has a range of 3000/4000 cycles making it a battery that does not need replacing very often.

Replacement Recommendation: At your discretion. We do recommend purchasing a spare battery if you are someone like a woodworker or chimney sweep, who finds themselves on the job for more than 8 hours a day as the battery has an 8 hour battery life.

CleanAir Pro

Clean Air Filters: The life of these filters will also vary based on the particulate environment you are working in.

Replacement Recommendation: We recommend changing these filters once a month if used daily for 8+ hours or until the alarm sounds.

Clean Air Pre Filters: Designed for additional filtration protection on your CleanAir Pro.

Replacement Recommendation: We advise that pre filters be changed once a month or until the alarm sounds on your system.

Infinity Systems

A1P3 and P3 Filters: Superior filtration for a variety of elements, the life of these filters will also depend on frequency of use and application.

Replacement Recommendation: We recommend changing these filters once a month if used daily for 8+ hours or until the alarm sounds.

Please note, there is not one specific timeline to follow when it comes to replacing your filters or parts as it completely depends on the frequency of use, the environment, how you care for your product, and personal hygiene.

This is a good general rule of thumb to follow and when in doubt, feel free to reach out to us at any time.

Stay Safe Out There.

What is the appropriate method to open up the power cap filter canisters to access the prefilters and filters. It felt like I was forcing the plastic housing too much.
Thankyou
