Powercap Pre-filter Pads help extend the life of the Powercap Active IP's P2 filter cartridges by protecting the exposed pleats of the filters from large, visible clumps of floating particulate matter. This keeps the P2 filters running at maximum efficiency, allowing for continued filtration of dangerous microscopic contaminants for extended periods and in the harshest of usage conditions.

Great product and customer service

I bought a PowerCap a few years ago and love the product. It fits well and is well balanced for use during wood turning. I was having trouble with the adjustment strap and, without hesitation, they shipped me a replacement part.

Worth every penny, with some caveats

I got this for my job as a stone sculptor which I have yet to use it for. I got about twelve hours of weed eating and chainsaw work in with it however and for that application I’m thrilled. It has good face protection and where I normally would be blowing mud and vegetation out of my sinuses for two days after, my respiratory track feels clean so even if it’s not up to the task of rock dust I wish I’d gotten this for outdoor work like mowing twenty years ago. I wish it was on an actual hard hat so I could feel better about it falling timber. The fan is louder than I expected to, a bit of buzz and wouldn’t hate a few more can but still totally functional. I was cooler and more comfortable than with no mask at all and night and day from wearing a passive mask. Overall I’m very happy though it could be a bit more stout and I’m suspicious about it having enough pressure for fines.

The pre-filters make all the difference!

I've been using pre-filters with my power cap respirator for over two years - and they really make a difference in how long the main filters last. The pre-filters seem to catch 50 -90 of the dust before it would hit the main filters. Its super easy to replace the pre-filters. I highly recommend using the pre-filters.
